Cloves are the aromatic flower buds of the Myrtaceae tree Syzygium aromaticum. They are native to Indonesia's Maluku Islands and are often used as a spice. Commercial clove harvesting takes place largely in Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania.
